Being a Grand Challenge Scholar has enabled me to diversify my education at Duke. From selecting a curriculum that covered many different topics outside of engineering, participating in service and international experiences, and conducting academic research, I have been able to build my knowledge of engineering and of the world immensely. I have learned more about how I can use my engineering skills to help others, and how to measure the impact that the projects I work on might have. I have also benefited greatly from the guidance of several wonderful advisors, who have helped me through my research projects and constructing my portfolio. The Grand Challenge Scholars program has been invaluable to my time at Duke.
